Muscat – The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP), in cooperation with the Foreign Ministry, organised a meeting with the heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Oman on Wednesday. It was the fourth in a series held by MoCIIP to attract more foreign investments to the sultanate.
The meeting was held under the patronage of H E Aseela Salem al Samsami, Undersecretary for Investment Promotion in MoCIIP, H E Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali al Harthy, Undersecretary for Diplomatic Affairs in the Foreign Ministry, and H E Maitha bint Saif al Mahrooqi, Undersecretary for Tourism in the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism.
“The meeting was intended to present incentives and investment opportunities available in various sectors. The ministry aims to attract investments in sectors such as food security, health and the information technology,” said H E Aseela.
H E Harthy commended the efforts made by MoCIIP in organising the meeting to attract more foreign investments and stressed the importance of continuing communication with accredited diplomatic missions in Oman to present the investment opportunities available in the sultanate.
According to MoCIIP, the meeting aimed at encouraging investments in line with the ministry’s objectives to stimulate the national economy to achieve the goals of Oman Vision 2040. It invited ambassadors to review the economic developments in the sultanate in various target sectors.
The ministry added that the sultanate offers special competitive advantages, especially after the issuance of the Foreign Capital Investment Law recently.
