Muscat Eat festival to kick off on Dec 2

Muscat – The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT) announced that Oman’s largest food festival, Muscat Eat will start on December 2.

The festival’s fourth edition will include several events to be held from December 2 to 4 and December 9 to 11.

Saleh bin Ali al Khaifi, director of Promotion and Marketing Department, MHT, said that the ministry’s support for the festival aims to strengthen the tourism sector and make Oman one among the world’s leading tourist destinations.

The festival, which will host a number of competitions and entertainment events, is expected to attract audiences of all age groups, especially families and children to taste Omani and international cuisines in a fun-filled atmosphere, Khaifi said.

Visitors will have option of choosing food from a large number of carts offering different types of food.

Muscat Eat will be attended by 150 chefs and institutions. It will also have live cooking stations, tastings and cooking competitions.
Guests will be entertained with a number of musical performances.

“The audience will have an opportunity to test their culinary skills through the ‘Cooking Challenge’,” Khaifi said.
