Doha, Qatar – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, accompanied by Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, Emir of Qatar, visited Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, as part of his visit to Qatar.

His Majesty heard a briefing on the objectives of Qatar Foundation and its role in promoting education, research, community development, innovation and entrepreneurship. The foundation hosts branches of international universities and progra- mmes of cooperation with educational establishments in Oman. His Majesty and Sheikh Tamim toured the venues of world universities, research centres and academic facilities affiliated to the foundation.

Later, His Majesty the Sultan and Sheikh Tamim visited Qatar National Library where they were briefed about its main functions. It comprises a wide range of reference books, manuscripts and archives serving researchers and students pursuing different disciplines.

His Majesty accepted a souvenir commemorating his visit to the National Library.

At the conclusion of the tour, His Majesty signed the Visitors’ Register hailing the efforts of Qatar, led by Sheikh Tamim, in upgrading education, innovation and community development.

During the two visits, His Majesty was accompanied by the head and members of the Mission of Honour and members of the official delegation accompanying him.
