Muscat – Khazaen Land Port, which is located in the Khazaen Economic City in Barka, has started its operations on Wednesday.
Asyad Group, in coordination with the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology and Royal Oman Police, announced the start of operational work at the Khazaen Land Port and receiving various commercial goods through the port.
Khazaen Land Port has obtained an international character licence and accreditation as an official customs port bearing the international coding OMKDB, Asyad Group said.
In a statement to Oman News Agency, Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed al Abri, CEO of Asyad Ports, explained that the start of the operational work of Khazaen Land Port is a new addition to the sultanate’s logistics system. He said the land port will act as a link and a land logistics centre between Oman and other countries of the region.
The start of operations at the port will raise the efficiency of the logistics movement in the sultanate.
