Muscat – The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth (MCSY) awarded two Omanis for their work in the field of visual and literary arts on Monday.
Anwar Khamis al Zedjali was honoured for his work in visual arts, while poet Hassan Obaid al Matroushi was awarded for his work in literary arts. The awards come as part of the ministry’s endeavour to honour Omani talent in the sultanate and abroad in various intellectual, literary and artistic fields.
It also aims to present them as cultural role models for the future generations, encouraging the intellectual, literary and artistic movement, and supporting innovative outputs to build the nation further.
The awards are also part of the Gulf cultural strategy for the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, which includes organising joint Gulf cultural events that contribute to the advancement of joint Gulf contributions.
