WTT Youth Contender in Muscat from Sunday

Muscat Nearly 100 paddlers will compete in the 2021 WTT Youth Contender Muscat, which begins at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex (SQSC), from Sunday. Organised by Oman Table Tennis Association (OTTA) in coordination with World Table Tennis (WTT) and ITTF, the event will feature players from 19 nations.

The tournament will be played in two legs. The first-leg will feature boys from Sunday to Tuesday while the girls’ event will commence from Thursday and conclude the next day.

The tournament will feature U11, U13, U15, U17, and U19 categories. Oman have fielded 17 players in the event, which include three girls. The players are being trained under Syrian coach Adnan Fawakherji.

Oman squad: Boys: Laith al Balushi, Eyad al Jassasi, Turki al Abri, Badar al Farsi, Omar al Awadi, Mohammed al Jassasi, Ali al Ghafri, Moyad al Mutawa, Loqman al Farsi, Ayman al Shehi, Mohammed al Moutawa, Badar al Jassasi, Abdulrahman al Zaabi, Mashal al Shehi. Girls: Al Hoor al Jassasi, Noor al Farsi and Retaj al Abri.
