Muscat – To ensure the safety of school buildings after cyclone Shaheen, the Ministry of Education (MoE) conducted several visits to institutions in Muscat in order for these to open on Wednesday.
In a statement, MoE said, ‘Several education committees visited various schools in the Governorate of Muscat on Tuesday to ensure the safety of school buildings and their facilities. The visits aim to prepare the buildings for the resumption of studies after the tropical situation Shaheen.’
H E Majid bin Saeed bin Sulaiman al Bahri, Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs in the ministry, visited a number of schools in the governorate.
Earlier, the ministry decided to suspend studies in public and private schools in the governorates of Muscat and Dhahirah on Tuesday.
It also decided to suspend study in all public and private schools in the governorates of South and North Batinah for three days, from October 5 to 7, with classes set to resume on Sunday, October 10.
