The Ministry of Health (MoH) on Monday said the total number of vaccinated people in the sultanate has risen to 2,592,464, who have been vaccinated with at least one dose of a vaccine since the inoculation campaign began in the sultanate.
This represents 73 per cent of the target group, the MoH said.
The number of people who got two doses reached 1,443, 886 – 40.7 per cent of the target group, the ministry said, as it confirms continuing with the expansion of the campaign in all the governorates.
The vaccine acceptance has been high in the country, which confirms the great societal awareness about the importance of immunisation against COVID-19, the MoH said. It reported 80 new cases of COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, in addition to three deaths bringing the total number of cases to 302,748 in the sultanate including 4,078 deaths.
‘Some 149 new cases have recovered, bringing the total number to 292,722 recoveries. The recovery rate is 96.7 per cent,’ the MoH said.
The ministry added that 13 new cases of hospitalisations were reported over the past 24 hours.
Ninety-one people are hospitalised with 40 in intensive care units (ICUs).
