Voltamp dispatches largest transformer in GCC

Voltamp Power Company, a subsidiary of Voltamp Group, has celebrated the dispatch of the first 500MVA, 220kV transformer, the largest transformer in the GCC region.

The transformer was dispatched in the presence of dignitaries from Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC), Majan Electricity Company, Sohar Industrial Estate (Madayn), L&T Oman and Voltamp Group officials.

The first 500MVA transformer has been dispatched from the company’s state-of-the-art factory in Sohar and will be installed at Airport Heights Grid Station in Muscat, according to a press release.

Eng Masood al Riyami, chief operating officer of OETC, appreciated the efforts of Voltamp Power in manufacturing the transformer on time and showing confidence on the quality and reliability of Voltamp products.

Eng Abdullah al Badri, CEO of Voltamp Group, thanked OETC and L&T Oman for the support and guidance, which has helped Voltamp Power achieving this goal of manufacturing the largest transformer in the GCC region.

This achievement brings Voltamp closer to the next goal of manufacturing the first 400kV transformer in the GCC region. With this successful milestone, the company has brought Oman and Voltamp into the likes of the leading global manufacturers.
