Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, was received by Bahrain King Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa on Sunday at Sakhir Palace. Sayyid Badr conveyed to him the greetings of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. The meeting was attended by Prince Salman bin Hamad al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain. The meeting was held on the occasion of the Oman’s Foreign Minister’s visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain to participate in the seventh meeting of the Oman-Bahraini Joint Ministerial Committee.
King Hamad took pride in the deep-rooted historical fraternal relations between Bahrain and Oman, praising bilateral cooperation at all levels. He asked the Omani minister to convey his greetings to His Majesty the Sultan and his best wishes to the Omani people of further growth.
King Hamad commended the key and constructive role of His Majesty the Sultan in boosting bilateral relations, praising the remarkable achievements witnessed by Oman under his leadership. He lauded the advanced level of the Bahraini-Omani relations and their perpetual growth thanks to common keenness to bolster them.
King Hamad praised the positive outcome of the Bahraini-Omani Joint Ministerial meeting in boosting cooperation and integration in various political, economic, commercial and cultural fields. The meeting also cast light on regional issues of common concern.
“Honoured to convey the greetings of His Majesty the Sultan to King Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa and to the Crown Prince. Relations are expanding. Wonderful to co-chair our Joint Committee with Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid al Zayan,” Sayyid Badr tweeted.
The Omani Foreign Minister expressed thanks and respect to King Hamad for the gracious welcome and hospitality, commending his efforts to promote bilateral fraternal ties. He stressed strong and growing relations between both countries thanks to the leaderships’ support and keenness to promote bilateral cooperation and serve common interests.
Three MoUs signed
The seventh meeting of the Omani-Bahraini Joint Ministerial Committee was held on Sunday in Manama under the chairmanship of Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid al Zayani, Bahraini Minister of Foreign Affairs and Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidi, Foreign Minister of Oman.
Dr Zayani highlighted in his speech the strong historic relations between Bahrain and Oman and their growth thanks to the support of King Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa and His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
The two ministers signed three memoranda of understanding. An MoU was signed between the Mohammed bin Mubarak al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies and the Diplomatic Institute in the field of diplomatic studies, research and training.
An MoU for cooperation in the fields of electricity and renewable energy and an MoU between the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism in Bahrain and the Consumer Protection Authority in the field of consumer protection were also signed.
