Omani trade delegation to head to Turkey

21 Aug 2021

An Omani trade delegation will head to Istanbul on Tuesday to discuss aspects of trade and investment cooperation with their Turkish counterparts.

The visit comes under programmes organised by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry to enhance opportunities for the Omani private sector by finding partners and investors at international economic exhibitions, said Eng Ridha bin Juma al Saleh, chairman of the Board of Directors of the chamber and head of the delegation.

During the visit, the delegation will participate in the 15th Turkish-Arab Economic Cooperation Forum, and attend an exhibition on technology, food, agricultural and hotel supplies. Meetings with Turkish officials to discuss prospects of trade and investment cooperation between the two friendly countries are also on the schedule.

The Turkish-Arab Economic Cooperation Forum includes the establishment of an economic symposium on ‘The New Vision for Investment in the Sultanate of Oman from 2021 to 2040’, which reviews laws and legislations on investment and important opportunities.

Oman imported goods worth RO77.9mn in 2019 from Turkey, while the value of Omani exports to Turkey amounted to RO42.6mn.
