With 66 days left for the opening game of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 at the Oman Cricket Academy Ground in Amerat on October 17, Oman Cricket (OC) is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the success of the event, which will be held in Oman for the first time.
Oman will host the Round One Group B matches, which will feature Bangladesh, Papua New Guinea, Scotland and Oman. With ICC requirements for the hosting of T20 World Cup needing upgrades at the existing venue, work is going on at a hectic pace to ensure that the mandatory conditions, sought by the world governing body, are fulfilled. OC officials are confident that Oman will be able to successfully host the T20 World Cup, which will then open the doors for many more international tournaments to be staged in the future.
Ahead of the T20 World Cup, Oman will also host Indian domestic cricket giants Mumbai side from August 20-September 3 before staging two tri-series of the World Cricket League 2 from September 13-October 2. The tri-series (50-over format) will witness Oman play against Nepal, USA, PNG and Scotland
