Sayyid Badr in Iran for Raisi’s swearing-in ceremony

Sayyid Badr Hamad al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, held a session of talks with Dr Mohammad Javad Zarif, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on Tuesday evening. 

The session reviewed bilateral relations and joint cooperation in different spheres between the two countries. The two sides affirmed their keenness in enhancing relations to serve the interests of their peoples. 

The session also touched on regional and international developments of mutual interest. Sayyid Badr underscored the importance of continuing to work on finding consensus in political solutions through peaceful dialogue and by backing all efforts exerted to achieve peace and security in the region. 

Assigned by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, Sayyid Badr arrived in Tehran earlier on Tuesday to represent the sultanate in the swearing-in ceremony of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi. Upon his arrival, Sayyid Badr was received in Mehrabad International Airport by Iranian officials and members of the Omani embassy in Tehran.
