247 Omanis graduate from Etimad programme

The Ministry of Labour (MoL) celebrated the graduation of the first batch of the National Leadership Programme for Middle/ Senior Management (Etimad) on Tuesday.

In a virtual ceremony held under the patronage of Dr Khamis bin Saif al Jabri, head of Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit, and in the presence of undersecretaries of  MoL, 247 participants graduated from the programme. 

Under Etimad, private sector employees get to sharpen their leadership and supervision skills through a special programme designed by international and local institutes specialised in enhancing management skills and training leaders.

H E Sayyid Salim bin Musallam bin Ali al Busaidi, Undersecretary for Human Resources Development in MoL, said, “The ministry will continue to develop the Etimad programme to include sectorally specialised leaders and to support various sectors with employment-related training programmes, on-the-job training, integrated training, the Khibrat programme and the Entrepreneurship Programme.”

“We are proud of the graduation of 247 young men and women from the first batch of Etimad, which is among the quality training programmes that are in line with Oman Vision 2040. These programmes invest in building national competencies with dynamic capabilities and skills that can compete locally and globally,” H ESayyid Busaidi added.

Dr Yasmin bint Shanan al Balushi, project manager of Etimad, said,“Development of national competencies and capabilities is one of the most important goals of Oman Vision 2040. The programme not only aims to build the capabilities of employees but also prepares them to a high degree of efficiency and leadership to face challenges.”
