The undersecretaries from the ministries of health in the GCC states have urged upon all citizens and residents in the Gulf to adhere to preventive measures such as wearing masks and avoiding gatherings during Eid al Adha.
The undersecretaries convened on Monday for their 18th meeting through video conferencing to discuss the latest developments related to the ongoing pandemic.
H E Dr Mohammed bin Saif al Hosni, Undersecretary for Oman’s Health Affairs, along with a number of other senior officials from the ministry participated in the meeting that agreed on a standard definition for the infected persons and deaths related to COVID-19 in the GCC countries, as well as the tests procedures for the gene sequence for the mutated strains.
Furthermore, the meeting agreed to standardise the classification of high-risk countries, and adopt the standards of the World Health Organization in this regard.
The meeting reviewed a number of related issues including the latest developments in immunisation in the GCC countries, Gulf Unified Treatment Manual and the COVID-19 Gulf Unified Manual.
