More than 1mn individuals have received COVID-19 vaccine in Oman, of which 22 per cent received both doses, the Ministry of Health (MoH) said on Monday. With this, 30 per cent of the target group (3.7mn people) has been immunised.
‘The number of people vaccinated against COVID-19 in the sultanate has increased to 1,096,838,’ an MoH statement said.
MoH began vaccinating a new target group – 18 years and older – in all governorates on Sunday and officials have described the turnout as ‘great’.
According to MoH, 3.2mn more doses of vaccine will arrive this month. Those eligible for vaccination need to register through the Tarassud+ app or covid19.moh. gov.om in advance.
On weekdays, vaccination timing at Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre is 8am to 6pm; on weekends (Friday and Saturday), the centre is open from 9am to 4pm.
Currently, individuals aged 18 years and older are receiving the first dose of vaccine; the second dose will be announced shortly.
