Dr Madiha bint Ahmed bin Nasser al Shibaniyah, Minister of Education, has issued a ministerial decision to form a committee to implement a technical and vocational education programme in post-basic education.

The decision follows directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to analyse the needs and requirements necessary to implement vocational and technical education in post-basic education, identify the necessary expertise and human resources, and develop an action plan for the programme in line with the requirements of the labour market and its future needs.

The decision mandates the committee to undertake the general supervision of the technical and vocational education project in post-basic education, and identify the requirementsto implement the project in line labour market demands and future needs.

The decision aims to find educational curricula that comply with the principles of Islam and Omani identity.
