Oman recorded a new high in COVID-19 related deaths on Monday with 46 succumbing to the virus.
The previous high of 41 single-day deaths was recorded on June 22.
With rising deaths, the sultanate finds itself among countries with the highest COVID-19 daily deaths. There were 2,243 new cases on Monday, the second highest since June 21 when 2,529 were reported.
With these figures, the total number of cases registered in the sultan-ate goes to 264,302. According to the Ministry of Health, the total number COVID-19 deaths now stands at 3,013.
