Daily case count hit a record high on Monday with 2,529 new infections reported. The daily count had dropped in the beginning of the year but has peaked this month with an average of over 1,500 every day. The number of deaths has also risen to 2,741 after 31 were reported on Monday.
The earlier highest – 2,164 cases – was recorded on July 13, 2020, while in 2021, the highest – 2,142 cases – was reported on June 16.
According to the Ministry of Health, the total number of COVID-19 cases registered in Oman is 250,572, while the total number of related deaths is 2,741.
One hundred and eighty-eight people were hospitalised in a 24-hour period on Monday, accounting for a total of 1,448 inpatients, including 428 in intensive care.
