H E Sayyid Badr Hamad al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, held a session of political talks with Evarist Bartolo, Minister for Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Malta on Monday.

The session reviewed bilateral cooperation in economic, scientific and cultural areas and ways of promoting these.

The two sides also exchanged views on several regional and international issues of common interest. They touched on the international response in battling COVID-19 pandemic and its new mutations, as well as the international cooperation in providing vaccines which are pivotal in recovering from the pandemic and its health, social and economic impacts.

Bartolo, who is on a three-day visit to Oman, met with Abdulsalam Mohammed al Murshidi, chairman of Oman Investment Authority on Sunday. During the meeting, the two sides reviewed ways of boosting cooperation in investment fields and benefiting from available opportunities in the two countries.

The Maltese minister also met Eng Ridha Juma al Saleh, chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, on Sunday. The two sides underscored the importance of enhancing trade exchange between the two countries, as well as benefiting from the incentives the sultanate provides for investors.
