Oman has witnessed a disturbing spike in COVID-19 infections, hospitalisations and related deaths. A total of 197 deaths were reported in the last seven days, including 84 from Thursday to Saturday, taking the death toll to 2,710. 

A total of 365 deaths were reported this month till Sunday, or 18.3 deaths per day – the highest since the outbreak. The Ministry of Health (MoH) reported 1,436 inpatients on Sunday – the highest during the pandemic – including 414 in ICUs. MoH reported 5,320 new cases in a three-day period ending Sunday.
