The Ministry of Health (MoH) reported 1,553 new cases of COVID-19 and ten related deaths on Tuesday. With the latest figures, the total number of cases registered in the sultanate now stands at 226, 648, including 2,434 deaths.

The total number of recoveries is 206,026, accounting for a recovery rate of 90.9 per cent.

A total of 983 COVID-19 patients were in health institutions on Tuesday, including 129 admitted in a 24-hour period on the day and 303 in intensive care units (ICU).

Meanwhile, Ibra Hospital has announced the postponement of regular appointments in the following specialised clinics: ophthalmology, ENT, dermatology and physiotherapy. Emergency cases will continue to be received in the main building of the hospital, starting June 13, 2021, until further notice.
