Oman-based Al Farsi National Enterprises has achieved a landmark recognition of 97 per cent VFE (virus filtration efficiency) rating for Trusta surgical face mask. The company is the first and only Omani manufacturer of healthcare N95 particulate respirators.
The test results were confirmed by UK headquartered independent testing laboratory Intertek Testing Services. In addition, the masks scored a 98 per cent PFE (particle filtration efficiency) and 99 per cent BFE (bacterial filtration efficiency) during the tests.
Issam al Farsi, chairman of Al Farsi National Enterprises, said, “Our team is really proud of this achievement. This additional virus filtration test results position Trusta surgical masks among the best engineered masks for protection and comfort available in the market. We have now 97 per cent VFE rating, 98 per cent PFE rating and 99 per cent BFE rating – but it is the recognition of being a 100 per cent Omani product which is dearest to us.”

The company started manufacturing surgical masks last year in response to the pandemic and is the first and the only Omani manufacturer of healthcare N95 particulate respirators and tie-on type surgical masks under the brand name Trusta. The company is also exporting personal protective equipment to the GCC, Europe and India.
