The Ministry of Education (MoE) signed a cooperation agreement with Al Jisr Foundation to implement a programme to provide enriching activities and extra care for talented students.
This agreement comes in line with the ministry’s belief in the right of gifted students to comprehensive care, and an educational environment appropriate for their abilities and skills.
H E Prof Dr Abdullah bin Khamis Ambosaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Education, signed the agreement with Mira Khalid al Busaidi, board member of Al Jisr Foundation for Charitable Activities, in the presence of Dr Fathiya al Sadia, director general of the Directorate General of Special Education and Continuing Learning, at the ministry’s main office.
H E Dr Ambosaidi said, “The signing of this agreement comes within the framework of the ministry’s attention to the talented students, and Al Jisr Foundation’s keenness to support this project. This agreement is concerned with providing enrichment activities for talented students who should be attended to with great care and special attention to their ability to advance in various cultural, sports and economic fields.”
“The ministry seeks to support this group by establishing a special department for the caring of talented students,” H E Dr Ambosaidi added.
Dina al Khalili, general manager of Al Jisr Foundation, said, “The Omani society is at the core of our work, and through this partnership the foundation invests in thousands of teachers whose work affects the lives of talented students directly.”
