CMA participates in Arab capital market regulators meeting

Oman, represented by the Capital Market Authority (CMA), participated in the meeting of the members of Arab Securities Commissions Association.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Abdullah bin Salim al Salmi, executive president of the CMA, along with presidents and senior officials of other regional securities and capital market regulators.

The members of the Arab Securities Commissions Association discussed a number of topics related to the regulation and development of the capital markets in the region.

The meeting reviewed the developments in the Arab stock exchanges. It disscussed the progress in the execution of general principles and guidelines approved for Arab capital markets and establishment of e-learning portal to provide specialized training programs related to capital markets.

Based in the UAE, the Arab Securities Commissions Association was established in 2007 as an independent not-for-profit organisation with the aim of upgrading the legislations and regulations of the Arab capital markets to achieve fairness, efficiency and transparency.
