Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has amended guidelines of COVID-19 PCR test for arriving passengers. Flyers on long-haul flights can take the PCR test up to 96 hours prior to arrival in Oman.
In a statement, CAA said that the decision was taken in coordination with health authorities in Oman.
‘The period of pre-travel negative COVID-19 PCR test has been amended for long international flights (not less than eight hours including transit) to be conducted within 96 hours of the scheduled arrival time in Oman. The requirement for negative COVID-19 PCR test for shorter flights continues to be 72 hours.’
The authority added that Omani citizens who have recovered from COVID-19 are allowed to travel to the sultanate if they provide proof that they have completed the prescribed quarantine period before taking the COVID-19 PCR test prior to departure to Oman. ‘The other entry requirements as stipulated in previous circulars will remain valid,’ the CAA stated.
