No cases of black fungus infection in Oman: MoH

The Ministry of Health on Sunday denied rumours about the presence of black fungus infection cases in Oman. 

In a statement, the Ministry of Health (MoH), said ‘The ministry has noted what is being circulated in social media regarding black fungus infection, known as mucormycosis. The ministry clarified that no case of this infection has been registered in patients with COVID-19 in Oman.’



1,757 COVID-19 cases 

Meanwhile, MoH on Sunday reported 1,757 new COVID-19 cases in the last three days, taking the total number of cases to 210,364. During the same period, 26 deaths were reported, accounting for a total of 2,265 deaths. The total number of recoveries now stands at 194,950, while the recovery rate is 93 per cent. 

Seventy-seven people were admitted to hospitals across the country in the last three days, taking the total number of inpatients to 673, including 238 in intensive care.
