The sultanate, represented by the Ministry of Health, on Sunday took part in the virtual 55th ordinary session of the Arab Health Ministers Council that saw participation of health ministers of the member Arab countries. Among a host of topics, the ministers also discussed revitalisation of the tourism and travel sector in Arab countries.
H E Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed al Sa’eedi, Minister of Health, represented the sultanate.
The meeting began with the address of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, praising all doctors and healthcare providers working in the Arab health sectors who put in all their efforts for the treatment of COVID-19 patients.
The General Secretariat also affirmed its support for all efforts of the Arab Health Ministers Council to enhance healthcare services in the Arab region.
The meeting highlighted a wide range of topics including a project of a common Arab strategy and its implementation mechanism to unite efforts to ensure provision of vaccines and fair distribution among Arab countries.
The meeting also reviewed the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism Resolution No 290 regarding support for the re-launch and revitalisation of the tourism and travel sector in the Arab countries.
