Oman and India renewed memorandums of understanding (MoU) in the field of military cooperation and maritime security on Thursday at a ceremony held in the Ministry of Defence.
The renewal of the MoU in the field of military cooperation was signed by Dr Mohammed bin Nasser al Zaabi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence, and H E Munu Mahawar, Ambassador of India to the sultanate.
The memorandum regulates aspects of military cooperation between the two countries in a way that enhances existing relations as well as common interests.
The MoU in the area of maritime security was signed on behalf of Oman by Maj Gen Saif bin Nasser al Rahbi, Commander of Royal Navy of Oman and Chairman of the Maritime Security Committee, and H E Mahawar for India.
The MoU aims to strengthen existing joint cooperation in the field of maritime between the two countries.
