The Royal Oman Police (ROP) said it has seen great commitment from all segments of society to adhere to the COVID-19 precautionary measures, especially the decisions related to preventing gatherings, whether in public places, beaches or family get-togethers.
In a statement to Oman News Agency, Maj Muhammad bin Salam al Hashami, from the Public Relations Department of ROP, said the public respected the decisions of the Supreme Committee, especially those related to preventing gatherings.
“There is a great response from citizens and residents to wear masks and maintain physical distancing when visiting shops. There is also commitment and awareness among families in not taking children out to shopping and the Supreme Committee’s decision related to preventing movement of individuals and vehicles during a lockdown period,” he said.
Maj Hashami added that fewer violations were recorded in recent days. “Some violations were registered during the movement ban.”
He affirmed the need to continue to take precautions as “we are still in a pandemic” and called on communities for continued commitment and cooperation. “This crisis can be resolved with the solidarity and cooperation of everyone,” he said.
