The National Competitiveness Committee, formed to improve Oman’s ranking in global indices, held its second meeting of the year on the premises of the Ministry of Economy in Al Khuwayr on Wednesday. The meeting was presided over by H E Dr Said bin Mohammed al Saqri, Minister of Economy.
The meeting reviewed a number of items listed on the agenda including those approved during the last meeting, and updates on international reports and indicators followed by the National Competitiveness Office. The meeting also reviewed the progress made in achieving the targets for 2021 and the action plan of coming months.
Members of the committee reiterated the importance of submitting accurate and updated information to international organisations as submitting inaccurate and outdated information can adversely affect the sultanate’s ranking in global indices.
These organisations obtain information from Omanis and expats who take part in annual surveys and reports on the sultanate.
The National Competitiveness Office maintains coordination with various local and international organisations to enhance Oman’s status.
