Virus deaths continue to rise, number of cases stabilise

The Ministry of Health (MoH) on Monday announced 13 COVID-19 related deaths and 796 new cases. With this the total number of cases registered in Oman now is 206,297, and the death toll 2,210.

However, on the brighter side, the recovery rate has been improving and as of Monday, it was 93 per cent. ‘A total of 723 COVID-19 patients recovered on Monday, accounting for a total of 191,065 recovered patients,’ an MoH statement said.

On Monday, 87 people were admitted in hospitals across the country, accounting for a total of 709 inpatients, including 238 in intensive care.

MoH advises all citizens and residents to continue washing hands with water and soap, avoid touching the face, nose, mouth and eyes, and follow healthy habits when coughing and sneezing.
