CPA runs campaigns to monitor markets before Eid

5 May 2021

As part of its efforts to monitor markets before Eid al Fitr, the Consumer Protection Authority (CPA), represented by its directorates in the various governorates, is continuing its inspection campaigns.

The authority launched the campaigns coinciding with active commercial movement in markets with Eid al Fitr approaching, especially before the implementation of the decisions of the Supreme Committee to ban all commercial activities throughout the day from May 8 to 15 to reduce the spread COVID-19.

Hammoud bin Saeed al Jabri, director general of Consumer Services and Market Control at CPA, said, “The authority is working according to a well-studied plan to follow up and monitor markets and to control violations in various commercial sectors during the period which witnesses an increase in consumer turnout at stores and commercial centres to purchase various supplies.”

Jabri said CPA has taken steps to make available enough goods and the authority is ready to deal with consumer complaints about any violations in the market.
