Gap extended for second dose

4 May 2021

The Ministry of Health (MoH) has decided to extend the period between the two doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine to four months due to shortage in global supplies.

A statement issued by MoH said, ‘The ministry has decided to extend the period for administering the second dose of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine to four months after the first dose due to lack of global supply and the delay by manufacturers in exporting the vaccine.’

For the second dose of the Oxford-AstraZeneca, recipients will be informed via a text message specifying the date for vaccination.
