The Ministry of Health on Monday reported 1,454 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total number of cases to 190,270. The number of deaths came down to six, accounting for a total of 1,983.
Muscat reported the highest number of new cases – 799 – on Monday, followed by Dhofar (173), North Batinah (117), Dakhliyah (103) and South Batinah (85).
There were 1,014 recoveries on Monday, accounting for a total of 169,784 COVID-19 patients who recovered from the disease. With this, the recovery rate now stands at 89.2 per cent, an MoH statement said. As of Monday, a total of 815 patients were in health institutions, including 274 in intensive care.
MoH advises all citizens and residents to continue washing hands with water and soap, avoid touching their face, nose, mouth and eyes, and follow healthy habits when coughing and sneezing.
