The Ministry of Labour (MoL) and the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (ASMED) on Tuesday signed an agreement to impart training to 3,000 jobseekers.
This step has been taken to support SMEs by making qualified national cadres capable of competing for job opportunities in various sectors in the labour market.
The agreement – signed by H E Sayyid Salim Musallam al Busaidi, Undersecretary for Human Resources Development at MoL, and Halima Rashid al Zer’ei, chairperson of ASMED – aims to offer incentives to SMEs so as to encourage them to attract jobseekers, train and qualify them to achieve the envisaged goals.
