An awareness film produced by the Royal Oman Police (ROP) on combatting cybercrimes in the Arab world has won the first place.
‘The awarding ceremony was organised by the General Secretariat of the Arab Interior Ministers Council on the sidelines of the 44th Conference of Arab Police and Security Leaders 2021 in Tunis,’ the ROP said in a statement. ‘The competition, in which a number of Arab countries took part, aimed to deepen awareness on security of citizens, and encourage them to contribute to the prevention of cybercrimes. In cooperation with the private sector institutions, the ROP’s participation aimed to enlighten the community of the risk of these crimes.’
Earlier, the ROP came first in an awareness film competition in the field of social media risk organised by the General Secretariat of the Arab Interior Ministers Council in 2016.
This year’s contest had five main areas: Controlling extremism and terrorism, controlling the use of narcotics and psychotropic substances, controlling cybersecurity crimes, protecting human rights and enhancing traffic safety.
