Srilankan lass participates in HundrED Youth Ambassador orientation

Yenuli Binara,  a talented student of Srilankan School Muscat was recently selected to take part in the HundrED Youth Ambassador Program for 2021, held online on February 21.

HundrED is an internationally recognised non-profit organisation, based in Finland, which seeks and shares inspiring innovations in K12 education worldwide. Participants at the orientation programme shared their ideas about education and the need to propagate equal education for everyone globally.

HundrED Youth Ambassadors are an active community of students from around the world who are passionate about education’s potential and want to be a part of its change together. Each year HundrED selects 100 young change makers from around the world and highlights their voice throughout research projects, global surveys and community events.

Yenuli said, “About two weeks ago I got to know about this announcement. This is a very rare opportunity. I became very happy when I got this opportunity to provide a service to the world, and society, using my innate abilities. For this, I appeal to the children and youth of Oman to join me in order to complete my mission of making the world a better place for all of us. By joining many little, yet good, attitudes together, we can make great changes in the world.”

Talented in singing as well as writing, Yenuli had last year launched a music video album – Wake up Mom – with a message for people around the world to save ‘mother nature’ from degradation and destruction due to human disregard for the environment. The video has lyrics written by Yenuli and carries a fervent appeal for people to stop their careless attitude towards the environment.”

Yenuli had also represented Oman in the ‘I-Sing World international Singing Competition’ held in Sweden (Stockholm) in 2019, wherein youngsters from 42 countries had participated. She had then won the 1st runners-up award in the junior category as well as the ‘Best audience performer Award’.
