Omanis working in UAE included in target groups for vaccination

1 Mar 2021

In efforts to complete the first phase of the national immunisation campaign against COVID-19, the Ministry of Health expanded the target groups for vaccination on Monday to include individuals aged 60 years and older for all vaccines as well as Omanis working in the United Arab Emirates who are required to cross the border frequently.

Additionally, ambulance crewmembers of Royal Oman Police in all governorates have been included in the target groups.

The vaccines will continue be administered at the previously announced immunisation centres in the governorates.

The national immunisation campaign will be carried out using vaccines available for both healthcare workers and non-medical community members.

The period between the first and second doses will be ten weeks, whether vaccinated with the Pfizer-BioNTech or Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines.
