With cloudy skies, temperatures dropped by a few degrees on Wednesday and it is likely to remain so on Thursday too.
The presence of an upper air trough over Saudi Arabia and Yemen is causing changes in weather conditions, according the Met department.
“This phenomenon is the reason for high and medium clouds in the sultanate and the drop in temperature,” an official from the Met said.
“This is a normal phenomenon. There is no forecast for any rains though.”
On Thursday, the skies will be partly cloudy over most of the sultanate with chance of late night to early morning low level clouds or fog patches over Buraimi, Dhahirah, South Sharqiyah and Al Wusta governorates. Friday will witness clear skies with chance of late night to early morning low level clouds or fog patches over parts of Buraimi, Dhahirah, South Sharqiyah and Al Wusta and Oman Sea coasts.
The sea waves will be moderate to rough along the Musandam governorate coasts.
