18 Jan 2021

The Ministry of Labour has announced that 18,134 jobseekers registered for the Khibrat Programme in three days and added that it hopes to train 1,000 jobseekers with soft skills during January.

In a statement, the ministry said Khibrat is a collaboration between ministries and is aimed at enhancing the employability skills of higher diploma holders and graduates and preparing them for work as well as job interviews. ‘Soft skills, including time management, working as part of a team, work ethics and communication skills are also delivered in the five-day intensive Khibrat programme,’ the ministry said. The programme targets jobseekers in five governorates: Muscat, North Batinah, South Batinah, South Sharqiyah and Dakhliyah.

The ministry said applicants need to have met certain conditions, including being a jobseeker, having not obtained any training at government expense and obtained a bachelor’s degree, higher diploma or general education diploma.
