The Supreme Committee tasked with tacking developments resulting from coronavirus (COVID-19) announced on Tuesday that schools can gradually return to blended learning system from January 17 in accordance with a mechanism that will be announced later by the Ministry of Education.
The committee held a meeting on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al Busaidi, Minister of Interior, and followed up on the developments of the pandemic and discussed preventive measures and ways to curb the spread of the virus and address other impacts.
In a statement, the Supreme Committee said, ‘The committee urges all to adhere to preventive measures issued by MoH to safe guard students and teachers.’
The committee also reviewed reports submitted by the authorities concerned with following up quarantine procedures and found that some citizens and residents are disobeying these procedures and decided to impose RO1,000 fine on those who break the quarantine procedures and not wearing or damaging the tracking bracelet.
