The application deadline for an initiative called Nueen Wa Nuaun (We help and operate), which aims to support Omani youth find jobs, has been extended to January 7, according to the Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Riyada).
Muscat Gases Company, in cooperation with Riyada and the Ministry of Social Development, launched the initiative recently.
The initiative will provide ten small trucks to transport and deliver gas cylinders. Muscat Gases will provide a truck each to ten youths and provide them training, support them in developing their project, and allocate a place for them at filling stations equipped with cooking gas cylinder vending machines.
The initiative also aims to achieve economic empowerment for members of social security families and raise the level of their economic status.
The vending machine will be an automated device that will allow consumers to replace and buy new 11kg cylinders all day long 24/7, enabling customers to make payments through mobile phone or point-of-sale devices. The machine will have a feature for image recognition allowing verification and confirmation of status of the cylinder replaced.
