As part of its efforts to support fishermen and attract visitors from different parts of the sultanate, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources has built a floating dock in Lima in Musandam governorate.
Speaking to Muscat Daily, Ahmed bin Habib al Shehhi, in-charge of the fishing port in Lima, said, “The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources constructed the new floating dock as the old one was damaged. The new dock is 30m long and 6m wide. It will help easy movement of fishermen through the port, and provide safety for fishing boats that operate on a daily basis. This port is the only access point to Lima, and visitors can reach here only through it.”
The new jetty is considered one of the basic amenities in the area, said Shehhi.
“We seek to establish some other services in the port, such as a fuel station, to make it easier for people to obtain their basic services and bring more visitors to the region.”
