The Ministry of Education (MoE) signed an agreement with Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), through a virtual meeting held on Wednesday morning, to develop a digital educational site on renewable energy.
PDO will develop, implement, and manage the site which will be directly connected to the official website of the ministry’s Educational Portal.
H E Majid al Bahri, Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs in MoE, and Abdul Amir al Ajmi, executive director of Foreign Affairs and Value Creation, PDO, signed the agreement.
H E Bahri said, “This agreement comes within the framework of the existing cooperation between MoE and PDO, and in line with Oman Vision 2040, as well as the country’s strategic orientation aimed at increasing the contribution of the renewable energy sector in the sultanate.”
He said the site will provide interactive materials and lessons on various aspects of renewable energy and will create an enhanced and sustainable modern curriculum targeting school students at various levels and age groups.
“It will also be an enriching activity for the current science curricula, and a means of spreading the culture of renewable energy among young people, highlighting its fields. We express our sincere thanks to PDO for its continuous and permanent cooperation with the ministry to develop the educational process in the sultanate,” he added.
