The handover ceremony was held in the presence of H E Dr Fatima Mohammed al Ajmi, Undersecretary for Administrative, Financial and Planning Affairs in the MoH, Dina al Khalili, head of Al Jisr Foundation, and other ministry officials.

H E Dr Fatima pointed out that Al Jisr’s donation of 16 ambulances underlined the foundation’s social responsibility to improve community services and develop projects for people’s welfare in the sultanate.

Dina emphasised the foundation’s vision to strengthen the health sector in the sultanate. She also stressed the importance of partnerships between civil society and the government sector and highlighted the foundation’s eagerness to support the efforts of the MoH, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The foundation had pledged RO2mn in the fight against the ongoing pandemic, of which a contribution of RO1mn was made to MoH’s COVID-19 Fund to build on the national efforts to combat the outbreak through expedited purchase of ventilators, personal protective equipment and medical supplies.

The remaining RO1mn was earmarked to support The Royal Hospital and Khoula Hospital with medical equipment. This included the provision of 16 ambulances to the health directorates in Dakhliyah, North Batinah and South Batinah.
