Cinema halls, public parks reopen; children below 12 can now enter malls


After the approval of the Supreme Committee on COVID-19, the government has announced the seventh package of activities that will be opened from December 1.

Among the activities that are open from today include cinema halls, wedding halls with no more than 50 people allowed, sports activities without an audience, bowling centers as well as resorts, parks, beaches.

In a major development, children below 12 can now enter malls. ‘Other activities include food courts in malls, exhibitions and conferences, health clubs, the second phase of beauty salons, trial rooms, kindergarten and nurseries, play areas and amusement centres in malls,’ a government statement said.

The government also announced the reopening of retail market at central vegetable markets, camping material renting shops, tourist sites – museums, forts, castles, and rehabilitation centers.

The reopened activities were much awaited by many businesses, citizens and residents who said life is coming back to ‘new normal.’
