MBPS mobilises technologically advanced rig

30 Nov 2020

Mohammed Barwani Petroleum Services (MBPS), the integrated oil services arm of Mohammed Barwani Holding (MBH), has recently installed and mobilised rig B-100, a technologically advanced rig driven by the safety of employees.

The new B-100 is equipped with remote control capabilities to minimise the need for physical presence of MBPS employees while assembling and moving the rig, which eliminates the risk of injury. This also makes the rig faster to mobilise, decreasing its rig move time from two-three days to one day.

The rig also features a wider rig floor which makes it safer for employees to work and reduces injuries.

In a press release, Salim al Harthy, CEO of MBPS, said, “Our line of work is incredibly focused on safety and performance, which is why the B-100 is a welcome addition to our fleet. As an integrated oil services company, we must always ensure that our employees are working to the highest standards of safety and are equipped with the tools and knowledge to deliver a quality job. MBPS will continue to exemplify this value in the coming years in our journey towards excellence.”

The new rig also adds value for both the company and clients. The remote installation and mobilisation capabilities make the rig quicker to dismantle and install from location to location, which can save up millions of dollars for clients. Furthermore, with new technologically advanced solutions, the rig upskills existing employees with the needed operating skills.
