Royal Oman Police (ROP) has resumed issuing new work visas. The facility was suspended for nearly eight months following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier this month, ROP also started issuing family joining and family visit visas.
According to an official of the Directorate General of Passport and Residence of ROP, currently visa applications are being accepted only online. “Applications for work visas started today but will only be accepted online,” the official told Muscat Daily.
All services at the Directorate General of Passport and Residence, including civil status, visa issuance, visa stamping and resident card services, along with services of Directorate General of Traffic, were suspended on March 19 as Oman braced to face the rising cases of the novel coronavirus in the sultanate.
