Ministry sets guidelines for expats leaving Oman during grace period

The Ministry of Labour has issued a set of instructions for expatriates who wish to leave the sultanate permanently during the grace period (from November 15 to December 31) wherein they don’t have to pay fines.

In a statement, the Ministry of Labour said registration can be done at their respective embassies, the ministry’s website (www.mol.gov.om) or at Sanad centres. 

Seven days after registration, the expatriate workers can leave the country. 

They should visit the Ministry of Labour office at Muscat International Airport seven hours before the departure of their flight. 

They should have a valid ticket, travel documents and a PCR test done within 72 hoursof departure, the ministry said.
